Sketch February — Art and sketches by Robert Churchill

Day 27 / “Road” / Townhead Interchange (Glasgow)

Media: Chinese ink, graphite and paint marker

The Townhead Interchange on the M8 was to be an integral part of the Glasgow Inner Ring road, which was never finished.

This view is looking south, with the Royal Infirmary top left. I’m not sure when the reference picture was taken but some of the buildings don’t exist any more.

More images can be found on the fascinating-sounding Scottish Roads Archive.
